Translating exogenous loading studies to clinical interventions

Abstract Summary
Decades of in vivo exogenous skeletal loading studies have identified numerous loading parameters associated with enhanced osteogenic responses while also revealing signalling pathways essential for mechanostransduction. However, the translation of these insights into effective exercise interventions has been, at best, only modestly effective. In this presentation, we will review data that underscores the challenge of translating knowledge derived from isolated skeletal loading experiments to clinical interventions.
