Abstract Summary
Anatomically accurate reconstruction of joint structures, including bone and cartilage, is necessary in musculo-skeletal modelling and prosthesis designs. Correspondingly, CT and MRI shall be used, possibly in combination. A single ankle specimen was analyzed by producing 3D bone and cartilage models from medical imaging scans, using three CT and two MRI different technologies. Best bone plus cartilage models were obtained from Cone-Beam CT and 3.0 T MRI.
