Subdiastolic venous occlusion alters fds tendon and ssct mechanics

Abstract Summary
There is little known about the mechanical effects of blood flow on finger flexor tendon (FDS) and subsynovial connective tissue (SSCT) motion. Ultrasonography recorded tissue motion during middle finger flexion-extension cycles with subdiastolic venous occlusion at two speeds. Occlusion altered FDS tendon and SSCT displacements, suggesting that edema may be responsible for altered tissue mechanics in the carpal tunnel.
