Contribution of neuromuscular measures to knee dynamic valgus position during sidestep cutting

Abstract Summary
The incidence of knee injuries in sport are well documented with several key variables associated with the risk of injury during cutting and landing identified. The contribution of lower extremity muscle activity is lesser known but may provide insights into the mechanisms as well as training and preventative strategies. The current study identified activation patterns of hamstring and quadriceps-to-hamstring ratios that were correlated with identified risk factors and may provide additional neuromuscular variables to help identify injury risk.
