Trunk kinetics and kinematics among older and obese individuals during one-handed carrying

Abstract Summary
We examined the effects of carrying various loads with one hand (up to approximately 10 kg) for a distance of approximately 6 m on trunk kinematics and kinetics among older and obese males. Three-dimensional (3D) trunk angles and moments about the L4/L5 vertebrae were calculated. Results suggest that changes in angles and moments were mainly due to load carrying, independent of age and obesity.
