Directional cues modify perceptions and behaviours in manual materials handling tasks

Abstract Summary
The purpose of this research was to examine affordances and postural mechanics for manual materials handling in tasks that were embedded with visual directional cues. We found that cues could modify occupational behaviour and handling biomechanics in work tasks. Directional cues might provide a useful way to modify occupational behaviour for repetitive manual material handling, thus consistently reducing musculoskeletal loading.
