Biomechanical response of the mandible to blunt impact and corresponding biofidelity of the focus headform

The Facial and Ocular CountermeasUre Safety (FOCUS) headform was designed to evaluate injury risk and effectiveness of countermeasures. Many of its segmented facial regions have been evaluated previously and shown to have biofidelic responses. The current study investigated both the biomechanical response of cadavers and the mechanical response of the FOCUS mandible region.
