Walking while working: the effect of walking workstation use on tripping kinematics

Abstract Summary
Active workstation use has been shown to decrease sedentary behavior in the workplace. However, a dual-task environment creates a division of focus increasing the risk of an adverse gait-related event. The current study examined lower extremity (LE) tripping descriptors during a difficult precision mouse clicking task while using a walking workstation. A lack of significant findings revealed that there is not an increased risk for an adverse gait-related event during walking workstation use, as tripping descriptors were unaffected by the mouse clicking task.
