Abstract Summary
The location of the body’s centre of mass (COM) during running can be useful to determine the influence of lower extremity geometry on the ground reaction force (GRF). A full-body marker set is typically used to calculate the COM, but setup can be cumbersome for large data collections. The use of a single sacral marker has been shown to be a reliable proxy for COM in walking gait. Therefore, we examined whether a sacral marker could also reliably predict the COM during running gait.
