Analysis of physiotherapy effect on sit-to-stand movement dynamics after stroke

Abstract Summary
This study examined the changes in the smoothness of joint torques during therapeutic interventions to sit-to-stand (STS) movement performed by the subjects after stroke. The results showed two expert physiotherapists consistently handled the motions to adjust the smoothness. The effect was observed after the therapeutic session, suggesting the therapeutic intervention tuned temporal parameter in the control system to realize an optimal smoothness in joint dynamics.
