Abstract Summary
Double-bundle (DB) anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is thought to improve kinematic outcomes after ACL reconstruction. Using a dynamic stereo X-ray (DSX) system, the side-to-side (SS) kinematic differences between 29 single bundle (SB) and 28 DB ACL reconstructed participants during downhill running were measured at 6 and 24 months after surgery. Abnormal SS kinematics differences were detected in the ACLR limb at 6 months and were still significant (but reduced) at 24 months. No kinematic differences were found between SB and DB reconstructions.
