Altered muscle geometry, moment arms, and strength in patients with hip dysplasia

Abstract Summary
This study compared hip muscle geometry (volumes, length), mechanical potential (moment arms), and strength in patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and healthy controls. Results suggest that abnormal bone structure in DDH creates a mechanical disadvantage for muscles surrounding the hip, especially in abduction.
