Finite element modeling in the osteoarthritis patient knee joint and evaluation of unloader knee brace

This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary
The use of bracing is a cost-effective and non-invasive treatment that provides pain relief without side effects with respect to knee osteoarthritis. In this study, a model with knee osteoarthritis combined with a finite element analysis model and a musculoskeletal model was constructed. This study evaluates the treatment of three types of knee braces that are valgus braces, including both a rotation brace and valgus-rotation brace, which can be used to design and evaluate knee braces using this model.
