Which vertical ground reaction forces variable is most associated with hip joint contact forces?

To quantify functional recovery of total hip replacement patients following surgery, vertical ground reaction forces (vGRF: “return to full weight bearing”) may be used. However, its association with hip contact forces remains unclear. In this work it is shown that the vGRF impulse is the most representative of hip contact forces.
