Changes in knee total joint moment during load carriage tasks in recruit-aged women

Abstract Summary
Load carriage is an essential component of combat related roles in military populations. Warfighters are regularly required to walk at velocities more routinely associated with running, known as forced marching (FM). There is a paucity of research regarding the effects of FM on knee total joint moments (KTJM) in women. Results indicated that KTJM is greater during FM at heel strike (HS) and midstance (MS). Greater limb asymmetry was observed during the FM.
