Morphological and apparent-level stiffness variations between normal and osteoarthritic bone

This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary
This study compared the micro-architecture and apparent modulus (Eapp) of humeral head trabecular bone in non-pathologic cadaveric specimens and osteoarthritic (OA) bone extracted from patients undergoing total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA). Differences were observed in both morphological parameters and Eapp between groups, indicating that these variations should be accounted for in computational models.
