Thoughts on publishing survey: an initial analysis of satisfaction levels on academic publishing

This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary
Lately there has been some frustration with academic publishing, highlighted by Europe's "Plan S" and University of California libraries considering to unsubscribe from all Elsevier journals. With the abilities of the internet, growing presence of science on social media, and the increased use of pre-prints to share scientific findings, scientific dissemination has room for improvement. We know it won't change quickly or easily, but we started by surveying those who access these articles daily.
