Functional comparisons between people with ertl and non-ertl transtibial amputation

Abstract Summary
Performance-based function and self-report (balance, health, prosthetic use) comparisons were made between individuals with transtibial osteomyoplastic (Ertl) and non-Ertl amputations. Functional task results found significantly greater functional ability in those with an Ertl amputation. No differences were found between groups in their self-assessments of balance, health, and prosthetic use. These results suggest that functional performance differences exist between individuals with Ertl and non-Ertl amputations.
