Knee extensor fatigue resistance in individuals following acl-reconstruction

Abstract Summary
Individuals following ACL-Reconstruction (ACLR) often present with signs of persistent muscle weakness. In this study, measures of quadriceps strength and fatigue were compared between individuals following ACLR and healthy active controls. ACLR knees presented with patterns of fatigue resistance compared to the uninjured limb and to healthy controls. A weak, negative relationship presented between quadriceps strength and fatigue in individuals following ACLR. Fatigue resistance may be sign of muscular weakness at the time of return to sport.
