Magnetic resonance imaging based finite element modeling of the proximal femur: an in vivo precision study

Abstract Summary
The objective of this research was to determine the in vivo measurement precision (reproducibility) of magnetic resonance (MR) based finite element (FE) modeling outcomes. MR images (1.5T) of the left proximal femur of 13 participants were used to construct FE models. Precision errors of the FE outcomes ranged from 3 to 31%, with stress outcomes having highest measurement reproducibility.
