Measuring stance time with ankle-mounted imeasureu sensors

This abstract has open access
Abstract Summary
Inertial measurement units (IMUs) provide an alternative to traditional data collection methods such as motion capture and force plates which can only be used in limited environments and populations. IMUs also enable the collection of more genuine movement patterns in a natural environment outside the laboratory. The validity of a method to calculate stance time during healthy gait using raw IMU data from the IMeasureU Blue Thunder sensor was tested. The method was found to agree well with the force plate gold standard.
